Airco is a leading multi-disciplinary building services company, employing more than 100 staff. They encompass the full range of air conditioning, from complex process cooling solutions to heat pumps, from mobile units to full comfort cooling designs. Originally, Airco was predominantly a refrigeration contractor. This discipline has grown over the years, and Airco now offers a full cold room design and build-facility, together with detailed expertise on specialist refrigeration equipment.
In short, they design, supply, install, commission, service and maintain the full range of equipment from all the leading manufacturers. Airco ventured into the rail industry and then, in turn, required competent staff to enable them to work ‘on or near the line’.
Airco required initially around 10 members of staff to be trained in PTS to enable them to undertake work on the railway. They were looking for an extremely flexible supplier who was able to attend their premises on a convenient day and time to undertake PTS medical and drugs and alcohol screenings in conjunction with PTS E-Learning and ICI assessments.
We were able to work around Airco’s requirements and provide a trainer and a medical examiner to attend their premises to undertake medical and Drugs and Alcohol screenings and to be on hand to assist candidates undertaking ICI and PTS E-Learning. The candidates then attended one of our training centres to complete the initial PTS, AC and DCCR course at a time that was suitable.
Airco were happy that our flexibility was beneficial in enabling them to fit a number of candidates on a course at the same time with next to no disruption to the company, enabling staff members to meet timescales and ensuring that maximum productivity could be met at all times, both with the business activities and having candidates trained effectively in ‘one sitting’ as it were.
